Shelby’s New Super Snake Revealed at Barrett-Jackson

Today, the Shelby American revealed the new 2024 Shelby Super Snake at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach, Florida. This high-performance version of Ford’s S650 Mustang sports car is limited to just 300 units in the U.S., emphasizing its exclusivity. It features a potent 830+ horsepower V8 engine enhanced with a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger. The Super Snake boasts a sophisticated aerodynamics package, including a unique aluminum hood and carbon fiber body components for optimized performance. Key details include advanced cooling systems, a Shelby-specific suspension, forged magnesium wheels, and luxurious interior upgrades tailored for driving enthusiasts.

The Woodside team got a look at the Super Snake today at the auction, and it looks even better in person:

Compared to its predecessor, the 2021 Super Snake, the 2024 model introduces an upgraded 830+ horsepower engine, made more formidable with a larger 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, whereas the older version was equipped with a 5.0-liter V8 capable of up to 825 horsepower.

In comparison to competitors, such as the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the Super Snake emphasizes a balance of luxury and performance. While the Hellcat also boasts a high-horsepower V8 engine, the Shelby’s use of advanced cooling systems, Shelby-specific suspension, and forged magnesium wheels highlight its driving refinement.

The 2024 Super Snake’s interior upgrades and the promise of bespoke customization options further set it apart, aiming at a niche of drivers who value both performance and exclusivity.

Pricing and further customization options are to be announced.
